Tame Goose
Down high ways of heaven wild geese flythe tame goose answers with a cry
along a ring of palings highshe stretches neck and runs to trythe mocking wings she can't control
but when the goose-girl brings the ryeshe snatches up and gobbles wholethe grain safe nestling in the bowl
nor heeds the whistling wings gone by.
